Brine pools

Sporadically placed among the ocean floor lie deep brine pools. The salt content in these pools are three to five times greater then the surrounding area and are toxic to marine life. Because of the high salt content the brine pools actually create a pool that has a greater surface content then the water surrounding it. That and the water is significantly warmer in said pools.Around these pools are mussel beds which many go to harvest. A word of caution; the locals know enough not to go dipping into the brine pools because of their toxicity.
