Creatures
• Salamander – This creature lives deep inside the hydrothermal vents. It’s shaped like a long lizard with beautiful fan-like gills. It’s able to heat the water around it to boiling temperatures. Roughly human size, they tend to eat small fish that come their way. They are generally non-aggressive unless around their dens, where they will become incredibly hostile. It is said that they are actually extremely intelligent, but are just too shy to hold conversations.• Hippocamp – These resemble large seahorses, but with more horse-like heads. Also unlike smaller seahorses, they have extremely large side fins, which make them relatively strong swimmers. They come in shades of white, blue, green, purple, pink, and yellow. Multicolored kelpies are rare, and often used to escort nobility.
• Undine – These are spirits of the sea. It’s said that they appear before major events. They take a variety of forms, but all seem to be transparent. In addition, they seem to have incredible control over the ocean itself.
• Kraken – The giant sea monsters of legend. They exist in the more abyssal areas of the oceans, so sightings are rare. However, most report them to be as large as myth makes them out to be. They could easily swallow a ship whole. A predatory species, they will attack on sight.
• Sea serpent – This encompasses a few incredibly large species of eels. They can be found far into open ocean. They do not need to eat frequently, so they will normally not attack. However, if one does encounter them on an unfortunate day, they are told be incredibly ferocious.
• Hydra – A multi headed type of sea serpent. Supposedly, the more heads a hydra has, the longer it has been alive. The most heads reported on a hydra is 22. Incredibly poisonous, a single bite can kill some in a few minutes. In addition, their blood is acidic, making fighting one very difficult.
