Introduction
Name: Azrael Highborn
Age: 99
Race: Merfolk
Kingdom: Mythicos
Description
Appearance: Azrael is a long thin mermaid with a stream line build. Her skin is pale but well toned due to the vigorous martial arts that she practices. Her facial features are thin and angular, with large almond shaped eyes peaking out threw thick dark lashes. Her eyes are golden amber, standing out from the natural red markings around her eyes. Azrael has long silver hair, usually tied back in a braid that reaches mid way to her tail fin. However strands of hair get loose more often then not. Purple markings also adorn her pale skin, creating a stripe like pattern. These stripes appear once on her cheeks and twice on her wrists, shoulders, and hips. Her tail unlike the rest of her families is a deep purple with a translucent tail. However when she decends into darker water her tail and fin like appendages take on a soft glow. Her long pointed ears are pierced and she will wear a gold band and a amethyst drop in one of them. A gold band is also worn around her arm and this is about as much jewelry you will see her wearing. She likes to keep the adornments down to a minimum unless having to attend a Royal Event.
Like & Dislikes: Like most people from Mythicos she was brought up to enjoy the arts; in particular she loves music. Sometimes music is the only thing that would keep her inside the castle. Another thing she enjoys is exploration; she doesn't like to be in one place or sitting idle for too long. She had to be doing something at all times otherwise she goes stir crazy. Due to the rigid society she finds herself with Azrael will often leave the city to find solitude; it is here where she can relax and let her more inquisitive nature take over.
Philosophy: She believes that a person is defined by there actions and not their pedigree, while tradition is important she recognizes the need for society to move forward. While this may be her opinion she understands that the older generation before her can not adapt to change easily; and changing a society drastically could be devastating to the order that has been established. Azreal is a firm believer in the balance of all things, good cannot exist with out bad, and one action always elicits another reaction. If she makes a mistake she takes full responsibility for any actions whether she meant to cause them or not. She expects this sort of maturity out of all citizens; ones who don't tend to get under her skin. Despite her cold exterior she does enjoy having fun; so she will travel out into open waters where she can enjoy her solitude and truly relax.
Background
History: Azraels story starts at her grandfather; declining in stability and becoming more senile more often then not, his daughter son was set up to take over the throne. In order for her to take her place on the throne a marriage was arranged with a young nobleman's daughter. The wedding took place out of necessity; and thus Queen Serenity was married into the kingdom. The kingdoms were in turmoil, as unrest came from the fact that the Master of the Sea whom still resided in Mythicos put the equality of the kingdoms out of balance. The Master at the time was the Kings younger brother; his name was Azrael.
Under the new rule Mythicos flourished, there defenses were built up in preparation and there new Queen calmed there nerves. A year or so went by and Queen Serenity had yet to produce an heir. A troublesome matter indeed for it was her who would bear the next master, and the next heir. Pressure was put on Queen Serenity; often causing her to have the need to escape the castle every now and then. She took to finding her solitude in the grotto's near by. It was here that she met her husbands younger brother, Azrael. They became fast friends and she often turned to him for advise in times of need. How ever what should have been a life long friendship was cut short after Azrael gave his life to bring peace to the kingdoms.
At last though the Queen was heavy with a child. People rejoiced and the Queen announced her child would bear the name of there kingdoms hero. It was thought that the Queen bared a son, for girls were rare in the Highborn line. So when a princess was born there was much debate whether the child should still bear the name of the great hero. Serenity ignored there protests and went ahead and named her daughter Azrael.
Azrael was the first of many children that Serenity had; and was mostly brought up by the household servants. Her education was extensive, and manners were the top priority. As a growing child with energy to spare she enjoyed the time she was enrolled in martial arts. An Adaro by the name of Erith took and interest in the young princess. She had a talent for battle which many of her kind lacked; so he took her under his wing and extended her knowledge far past what was required. Her Grandfather would often come to watch the spars that took place between her and Erith. Senile as he was he was still impressed in the girls ability and noticed she possessed a talent for using a pole arm. Much like his younger son had. Seeing how his Azrael had eliminated the need for a master he did not see the harm in giving her Azraels old glaive. It was after all her birthright.
Now to give a weapon to a noble woman, a royal no less was unheard of. There was an outcry over the fact that the young merperson now carried the glaive with her where ever she went. It was a mockery of tradition! Despite the pleads from both her father, and mother to not carry such a weapon out in public Azrael remained stubborn. She bore the blade proudly; eventually the issue was dropped. However the disapproving looks never did cease.
When it came to using Craerulus Azrael was the most talented or so it seemed. The fact was Craerulus scared her; she didn't like using it. So she generally faked failing the tests that were given to her to test if she had it or not. Yes she would show the ability to talk with different sea creatures or to heal a creature in need. But other then that she didn't delve much further into it. But there was a reason she was afraid which is unknown to any one but her. Its a secrete she guards very carefully and doesn't plan on revealing anytime soon, for she fears the backlash that would result in it.

Other
Inventory: Deities Glaive: A long silver pole with one blunt end and one curved blade with a purple tassel around its hilt. Ruins are etched into the bright metal and when accessing Craerulus the ruins glow a light violet. Other then that the blade looks like nothing special but it has been passed down from Master to master over generations. Which is why it is such a controversial opinion on whether she should own the blade or not.
The glaive is the only thing noteworthy other then that she owns an extensive amount of jewels; fine cloths, and instruments. She is a found collector of human objects and those are often hidden away.
Powers: She can talk to sea creatures and heal things a little but that's all that the general public knows.
